Baby food... what!?!
I just bought my first box of baby food...rice cereal. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that.
I don't know that monster is ready for solids yet but her doctor said we should start because she weighs so little. He wants her to put on a few... don't hear that much after you're 10 years old. :-)
I guess we'll just try a little bit and see how she likes it. Maybe even tonight. More likely not though.
I had done some research about starting baby food and the AAP recommends starting solids between 4 and 6 months. Well, she's 4 1/2 months old now... I had planned on waiting until closer to 6 months... and then starting without rice cereal, just going straight to sweet potatoes (for some reason I want her first food to be sweet potatoes, don't know why... probably the same reason I wanted Chipotle everyday while I was pregnant with her...). I also wanted to make my own baby food. I still do. I'm just not sure if it will happen. It wouldn't be too hard I don't think. We'll see what happens, maybe try this rice cereal now or maybe wait a few more weeks. I'm not sure yet. At least I'm prepared a little bit. and I do have plates/bowls/silverware for her also.

construction!?!
We went to Ikea on Saturday (I always feel really weird saying Ikea, Like I'll be judged for shopping there or something) in order to pick up some stuff to help with my organization ideas. However, once we got there we found out the marketplace was under construction. As in they were moving everything and nothing was where it should have been. There were things in 2 or 3 different locations and a lot of things seemed to be completely missing. It was no fun. Because of that, we missed out on a bunch of things that I wanted and was going to use over the weekend in order to clean up the piles of junk around the house. Hopefully, we'll be able to go back sometime soon and the place will be finished.
but, we did get a nice place to store coats and get them off of the banister/hooks. Once I get the shoes thing figured out, I'll be back to share it all. I promise.

30 before 30
I hate getting older. I love my birthday, any birthday for that matter, but I hate getting older. The thought that I am one year closer to 30 makes me cringe... In that thought I've been trying to come up with something to make this year better and to take my mind off of turning 30. Hence my 30 before 30 list. I challenge myself to do these 30 things between now and February 23, 2013. Here goes nothing.

7. Learn something new (physical).
Health--Mental
8. Get off all meds and feel good about it.

Travel
24. Take a trip somewhere I haven’t been.
25. Visit Monmouth.
26. Check out city of Madison.
27. Go to Duluth for a weekend.
28. Spend a weekend camping out of town.

Privacy
I wish I didn't have such an issue with my little monster's privacy. I want to put her pictures on this blog because a blog with no pictures is pretty boring... I'll have to come up with other things to take pictures of. I feel like I won't be able to blog about her very well without pictures... must be creative!
No facebook oversharing for my baby!

Do dreams matter?
For the last few years I have been having dreams about having babies. I was in no way ready to have one, and still don't feel like I am, but dreaming about them was nice. However, every single baby, in every single dream, has been a baby girl. J thinks our baby is a girl because one day before he knew we were pregnant, he heard a little girl talking in our living room early one morning. It's a little creepy but sweet at the same time. Now we're convinced that is a little baby girl in there. But, we're not going to find out before he/she comes along. The Chinese gender prediction that i did a long time ago claimed it would be a girl, the gals at work think it's going to be a girl, the heartbeat is above 140, so far... what do you think?

** Turns out we were right... I guess my dreams were trying to tell me something. But now i wonder, does this mean I'll only have baby girls? Never a baby boy? Maybe I'll start dreaming about baby boys... They say dreams really do come true...**

...
For anyone who watches How I Met Your Mother, I am going to make a sweeping declaration... (I love that show!)
My sweeping declaration is that I am going to come up with a 30 before 30 list. I have just over a year before I turn the big 3-0 and am not looking forward to it. So, in order to give myself something else to think about, besides getting old, I am creating this "bucket list." It's part bucket list and part get off my ass and get these things done list.
Stay tuned for the actual list. I'm at about 27 things...
***UPDATE***
I have finished the list. I have 30 things that are completely accomplishable (is that a word?) if I just get up and do them. Can't wait to get started!! Stay tuned :)

Shout, shout, let it all out
Just want to give a shout out to my friend Jackie of Snapjack Photography. She did an amazing shoot of newborn photos for my little monster and I've seen others that are awesome as well.
Check her out on facebook. Snapjack photography.
She does babies, kids, families. She even did our engagement photos a million years ago and helped to make our save the date postcards. She is pretty cool so click over and see what she can do.
